A
DNA sample collection kit returned with animal or genetic
material is assigned a unique locator number and automatically
enters our archival unit for preserved (long or short-term)
storage.
The sample's unique identification number is twined with its
associated specimen information and is linked to a database
or DNA registry.
From this point onward a DNA fingerprint test could be ordered
or this genotyping registry accessed (if client approved)
by other genetic researchers.
